The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has been notified that its application for support from the Cultural Recovery Fund has been successful. The grant will support the Orchestra’s wide-ranging work in education, social inclusion and community engagement – as well as its UK-wide performance programme. The Orchestra’s mission is to enrich lives at both a national and grassroots level and the grant will help the RPO to play an active and wide-ranging role in helping the country to rebuild after the pandemic – and for the arts to make a vital cultural and economic contribution to society at large.
The second round of awards made today will help organisations to look ahead to the spring and summer and plan for reopening and recovery. After months of closures and cancellations to contain the virus and save lives, this funding is a much-needed helping hand for organisations transitioning back to normal in the months ahead.
