This month saw the Orchestra go on a whistle-stop tour to central and southeastern Europe, stopping off in Wrocław, Budapest, Belgrade and Athens. Music Director Vasily Petrenko conducted performances with pianists Yunchan Lim and József Balog.

Wrocław, Thursday 10 October
Our first stop was the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, Poland, where in the first half we performed Dvořák's Carnival Overture and Chopin's Piano Concerto No.2 with Van Cliburn International Piano Competition winner and international sensation Yunchan Lim. The concert closed out with Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra.

The following day we arrived at the Müpa Budapest, with Liszt's Piano Concerto No.2 in the programme performed by the Hungarian soloist, József Balog.

Athens, Sunday 13 October
Our final gig of the tour was at the Megaron in Athens, taking the Dvořák, Chopin and Bartók for a final ride with Yunchan Lim and Vasily Petrenko.
