Leonardo Jaffe playing the violin in rehearsal

Second Violin

Born into a musical family in São Paulo, Brazil, Leonardo began studying the violin at the age of five with his mother Renata Jaffé. At fifteen, he moved to the UK to attend the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he studied under Professor Paul Biss, and completed his master’s degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under the guidance of Professor David Takeno.

Leonardo is the first-prize winner of the National Violin Competition Paulo Bozizio in Brazil and the 1st International Violin Competition in Tucumán, Argentina. A career highlight during this time was his performance of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto under the baton of maestro Shlomo Mintz.
