Cello
Jean-Baptiste Toselli started playing the cello at the age of five. After studying with Étienne Péclard, Marc Coppey, Louise Hopkins, the Ysaÿe Quartet and the Belcea Quartet, he performed with the Paris Opera, Orchestre national d'Île-de-France, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, and with the Paris Chamber Orchestra as a guest principal.
He has also been invited to perform in many festivals such as the Biarritz International Piano Festival, Beauvais Cello Festival and Montreux Festival, and as a chamber musician he also played with Lachrymæ Ensemble over a period of ten years as a performer and artistic advisor.
In 2018, he was appointed to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Now his career takes him to some of the world’s most impressive venues including La Scala in Milan, the Berliner Philharmonie and Carnegie Hall in New York.
Born in Bordeaux, he studied at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux, Paris Conservatoire, and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, from where he graduated with Distinction.
