St Paul’s Cathedral hosts a very special concert on Thursday 26 October 2017 when John Rutter, the nation’s – no, make that the world’s – favourite choral composer, joins forces with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to perform a programme of music that, on one level, will delight his many fans and on another, has a deeply personal significance.
Following a very successful Lullaby Project with refugee and migrant mothers at Praxis Community Projects in June, the RPO and Irene Taylor Trust (ITT) continued the roll out of this heart-warming programme with an emotional project with fathers at HMP Wandsworth.
On 25 September the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Nelson, begins an exciting tour of the Far East with a concert in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. It continues with concerts in Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing before culminating with a final concert in Beijing, at the National Centre for the Performing Arts.
Francesca Dego is considered to be one of the best Italian violinists of her generation. Later this year she makes her debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing the Mendelssohn and Bruch Violin Concertos at The Baths Hall Scunthorpe on Wednesday 22nd, The Hawth Crawley on Thursday 23rd, Northampton Royal & Derngate on Sunday 26th November.
